Dynatrace was founded in Linz in 2005 and now has over 1,600 employees worldwide. Alongside its existing software labs in Linz, Gdansk, Detroit and Barcelona, the company has now also set up an additional software engineering site at the Lakeside Park in Klagenfurt. Its aims are ambitious: this year, the number of software developers should be increased from 8 to 30. Over 100 employees are planned in the medium-term. The search for staff is already well underway. The official site opening on February 28, 2018 was attended by numerous personalities form the worlds of politics, finance and education.
“The close proximity to the university and universities of applied science in Klagenfurt offers us some great prospects when it comes to searching for the brightest minds for our new team of developers,” says Bernd Greifeneder, co-founder and CTO of Dynatrace. “We are looking for software engineers who do not think in terms of projects but rather who want to be involved with the ongoing development of a worldwide leading product. A product which is currently raked at number 72 in the Fortune 100”.

Go-ahead for an ambitious growth strategy
The native Bavarian has over 20 years’ first-hand experience of the advantages Carinthia has to offer. After completing his studies at the University of Klagenfurt and MIT in Boston, he held managerial positions at various IT companies and start-ups. “When I received the offer from Dynatrace to develop the Klagenfurt site from scratch, I just couldn’t turn it down,” Kaufmann recalls. I want to plant the seeds of the strong structure developed by colleagues in Linz and get them to grow as soon as possible. It is also very important to me to develop the exceptional corporate culture I experienced at Dynatrace in Linz here in Klagenfurt”. Kaufmann started out in his mission at the end of 2017, accompanied by his team of eight. The official opening of the Klagenfurt site on February 28, 2018 marks the go-ahead for the planned growth strategy: in just a few years, Dynatrace aims to become the biggest software company in Carinthia with its planned workforce of min. 100 people.
