15th anniversary of the Lakeside Science & Technology Park, congratulations!
11/19/2020
The Lakeside Science & Technology Park is unique in this part of Europe. Companies, students of the University of Klagenfurt and researchers from up to five research institutions meet at one location. The exchange of knowledge and experience leads to intensive cooperations at all levels. In addition, a 5G network has been established in the park to ensure that companies or, for example, the Joanneum Research Institute for Robotics and Mechatronics can develop projects on the technology of the future.
Educational Lab
Carinthia offers a highly modern education system that works closely with the economy. In order to get children and young people interested in natural sciences and future topics, such as 3D printing or robotics, the so-called »Educational Lab« was established, an open research laboratory for new forms of education, training and further education. It brings together cooperative organisations, initiatives and projects that develop, test and implement new forms of teaching and learning methods in the fields of MINT (mathematics, information technology, natural sciences and technology) and thus, arouse the interest of children and young people.
Europe's largest drone flight hall
Last year, Europe's largest drone flight hall was opened in Lakeside Park. With a height of ten metres, it provides drone researchers with a highly modern research infrastructure at the University of Klagenfurt. In addition, a new research laboratory for the Joanneum Research Robotics Institute was also built in the park, which focuses on the interaction between robots and humans.
